At the Local Area Planning session in December last year, the issue of local communication was raised, and a group discussed the possibility of starting up a local publication - perhaps a newsletter, website or email group - to share information about local groups, find out about what's happening in the town and surrounds, and find out about Council initiatives, and how to become involved.
I've spoken with some of the people who were involved in the conversation at the last Local Area Planning meeting, and we agreed a get together would be useful - to chat about the purpose of creating a newsletter (or similar), and to brainstorm of some of the issues involved in starting something up.
We'll be meeting at the Mt Moriac Pub, on Tuesday 19 February at 7:30pm. Come along for a chat, or if you can't make it, feel free to post your comments here, and I'll take them along on the night.
