Hi Peter,
Thank you for joining the eforum discussions, for your congratulations, and questions and suggestions. I have cut, paste and italicised your questions below which I have attempted to answer:
1. Is it possible for the date of Posts to be shown in the Australian DD-MM-YYY format rather than the American format?
The date format on the site should hopefully appear in the Australian date format however when users log in the date format chages to the American format. We are working on a way to stop this happening without manually changing everyone's settings. However, I will change your format to the Australian format.
2. Is the content of postings in a particular thread made available to Officers and Councillors for consideration when they are deciding upon issues which affect the Community? If so, how is the information presented. If not, then what is the purpose of a resident/ratepayer using this forum if any comments made are not passed on for consideration?
All Council Officers and Councillors have access to the eforum site as do residents and those interested in the Surf Coast. With each issue for discussion there is a minimum of one (possibly more) subject experts. The eforum has been specifically desigend to provide Council Officers (subject experts) and Councillors with voices from Surf Coast communities to inform decisions which affect Surf Coast communities.
3. Is it possible for registered users to initiate a Topic?
At present topics are initiated by Council on issues of relevance to Council, this allows Council to seek feedback and input into Council decisions which Council is currently considering. Please note the eforum is intended as an additional way to engage with Council and if there is an issue of importance to you or a group you work with please contact Council at info@surfcoast.vic.gov.au.
Manningham City Council which opened its' eforum site in February this year allows residents to initiate topics of discussion.
Thank you again for your questions and input, and apologies for the delay in responding to your post. I had a few days off last week to witness the birth of my son!
